The custom rig represents the marriage of two distinct cultures: cute and geek. Speaking of marriage, I predict this gentlemen will appear on a new reality TV show called “Nerd Bachelor”."

"Here's my (finished?) proton pack with full lights and sound. It has an aluminum motherboard, fiberglass shell, resin thrower and mostly resin trim pieces.


The electronics consist of:
- R2Devo v7 combo light kit
- GBFans sound chip with Crix's breakout board
- 7 watt amplifier
- 4" speaker mounted inside the N-filter (for built-in sound venting)


The Booster Tube houses 2 battery packs. One 12v pack of 8AA batteries (for the light kit and amplifier) and one 3v pack of 2AA batteries (for the sound chip).


I've wired it so I can run just lights only (to increase battery life), or I can run full lights and sound. The volume is adjustable from the pot exposed between the motherboard and alice frame.


For some reason, when I power up the sound system, it plays a sound... I need to figure a way to make this not happen (or I'll have to wire up a button to just play the VG shutdown sound or something to kill sound after I turn the system on).

"My nephew who is now 11 is crazy about Ghostbuster I am really not sure where he gets it, because the last time I knew this film was back in 1984  and the second shortly after that and the real ghostbusters cartoon has not been around for years.  But Dalton is consumed with GB so much so he ask me to build him A proton pack in 2010 going by the plans on GB board we worked 2 months getting this pack to the way he, my nephew wanted it. The pack has working lights and sounds and not sure about the slimer green canister, I dont remember that in the movie but that is what he wanted.  The next year in 2011 we ,my wife and I built him his own Ecto 1 again not movie accurate but what he wanted with slimmer green waste hoses instead of blue.  He also got the Matty PKE Metor and the Matty ghost trap for xmas, the kid sleeps with them.  I thought it was A faze but I think he is turning into a real Ghostbuster."
