Franchising: Charities - Louisiana GhostbustersCarnevale di Wrap Up Stagione

Louisiana Ghostbusters is a fan based Ghostbusters franchise.  We are a service organization.  That means we direct money to charities, we participate in fundraisers for charities, we attend fund raising events, and we do charitable acts and community service.  We are always happy to help, but we do not provide any sort of paid services of any kind.  We are a fan club, and we like to help the community.

We participate in several charity events a year.  We form teams and competitively collect donations.  We would graciously accept any donations for our charitable causes.  These donations will be going to non-profit 501(c)3 corporations and your contributions are tax deductible.  Be sure to print out a receipt when you make a contribution.  Louisiana Ghostbusters is not affiliated with Sony or Columbia Pictures, owner of the two Ghostbusters movies, the Ghostbusters trademark, and the Ghostbusters logo, but we're really big fans!

Carnival 2011: The Ghostbusters of the West Gulf Coast Region: Houston Area Ghostbusters, Louisiana Ghostbusters, and Mississippi Ghostbusters helped raise a total $1124.59 for charity during 2011's Carnival Season in Louisiana.  Carnival Season, known more widely for Mardi Gras, the grande finale of Carnival, is an annual cultural celebration marked by parades, king cakes, beads, and many other Gulf Coast traditions.

The team started off the season at a dog parade, Krewe of Mutts, in Baton Rouge on February 20, helping raise a total $624.59 for APAWS (Animal Protection and Welfare Society) after expenses selling marhsmallow men, Nestle Crunch bars, Twinkies, Cheese Nips, and many other confections associated with Ghostbusters.

The dog parade was attended by members Jennifer Burke, Ryan Burke, Emily Harris, and the Burke's dog Bandit.

The next weekend, the team headed back to Baton Rouge on February 26 along with the Houston Area Ghostbusters and the Missippi Ghostbusters.  Special thanks to Houston Area members Sarah Belham, Patrick Hankamer, Nick Engel, William Turner, and Jess Hankamer.  Mississippi members in attendance were Mississippi President David Johnson, having just had his gall bladder operated on, and David Odenwald.  Louisiana members in attendence were Dale Van Brocklin, Ryan Burke, Jennifer Burke, Ben Langlinais, Emily Harris, Joe Martin, John Kupsa, and new members Mark Rhodes and Gerrit Ryder.  The three franchises raised $300 for the American Cancer Society at the Krewe of Mystique Parade.

Immediately following the Krewe of Mystique Parade, Louisiana and Mississippi loaded up and headed an hour east to Robert, LA to bust a ghost at a slumber party for six to eight year olds.  The teams raised $100 for the American Cancer Society busting that ghost.

Members in attendence at the Livonia parade were David Johnson, also of Mississippi Ghostbusters, Jack Dupuy, Ben Langlinais, Emily Harris, Ryan Burke, Jennifer Burke, John Kupsa, and new member Krista Dupuy.  That brings the entire Carnival fundraising total to $1124.59.  All in a days work.
