Charities: Louisiana Ghostbusters Realy for Life - April 28!

"Louisiana Ghostbusters is a fan-based Ghostbusters franchise. As costumers and fans of Ghostbusters, we represent our open costuming policy with movie-accurate props and wardrobe representing all aspects of the Ghostbusters series of movies, cartoons, games, and novels. As a service organization, we direct money to charities, we participate in fundraisers for charities, we attend fund-raising events, and we do charitable acts and community service. As volunteers, LAGB performs many acts of philanthropy happily, but we do not provide any sort of paid services of any kind. We effectively trade smiles and good will for donations to various worthy causes. We are a fan club with a mandate to help the community, bringing smiles and goodwill wherever wherever we can when someone decides we’re who they’re gonna call!"

Our current upcoming charity is RELAY FOR LIFE:  St. Tammany Parish.  You can find our team page to help support our earnings goal for the American Cancer Society HERE:

Interview with legendary Ghostbusters Calendars

Interview with co-creater of the calendar - Mike Sopronyi

How did Ghostbusters Calendars?
The idea of the Sexy Ghostbusters Calendar started around 2007 when the producers of "Ghostbusters: Spook University" were waiting for the effects to completed.. While working at a Halloween store, I saw the Sexy GB costume for the first time and thought of a pin up style calendar. Getting some of the actress from "Spook University and some friends that were local models to start off the calendar. Since then, the ladies that have appeared in the calendar have been a combonation of other local models, fans of the calendar, cosplayers and actresses!

Who are the members?
Our most active memebers are Amanda C., Ilene & Nezzie
Plans are in th works with Izzie, Erkisa, Jessie and some new ladies for 2013

The props are made by you?
The props were put together by John Hibbard (The Real Ohio Ghostbusters) as well with the new Matty Collector PKE & Ghost Trap

For years, collaborating with GBNews. How did this collaboration?
The collaboration with GhostbustersNews.com started in early 2010, talks begain with GBNews in late 2009 of hosting the calendar

Ghostbusters Calendars do a lot of charity events. Tell us about this and your experience.
The Real Ohio Ghosbusters along with the Sexy Ghostbusters Calendar have teamed up on several events since 2009 raising over $3,000, which 100% of all money raised goes to charity! We've helped out, "March of Dimes", "The Red Cross", "Susan G. Komen For The Cure", "Bark Ark Bully Rescue", Cincinnati Freestorre Foodbank", just to name a few.. I very big thank you to all the different organizations that have donated prizes to be raffled off, including Mark Bryan Wilson (Slimer GB1) Billy Bryan (Stay Puft), Steve Johnson (GB1 Effects Artist), William Atherton (Walter Peck) Slavitza Jovan, (Gozer) Robin Shelby (Slimer GB2) Ernie Hudson & The Heart of The Ghostbusters, Dan Aykroyd!!!

Celebrate 5 years. Do something special for 2012?
Since the Sexy GB Calendar turned 5, we wanted to do something a little different of having 24 of everyone's favorite ladies return for a "BEST OF" edition.. A panel of different Ghostbuster fanchise members, photographers who assisted with the calendar, cosplay models and an actor/voice over, (who will remain anonymous, that lended his voice talents in another movie franchise video game last year) voted on who would appear in the 2012 calendar..

Plans for the future?
As for plans for the future, 2013 calendar is abou 60% done and continue to help out other charities!

Charities: AZ Ghostbusters Children's Hospital Visit Recap 12/21/11

On Wednesday, December 21st, 2011, the Arizona Ghostbusters made their third annual visit to Phoenix Children's Hospital and Cardon Children's Medical Center to deliver the toys collected from the Samurai Comics Toy Drive on December 10th. At each hospital the toys were set up for the children and parents to come in and pick from. Our first stop was the outpatient wing of Phoenix Children's Hospital. In the afternoon we set up at the Oncology unit at Cardon Children's Medical Center.

While it is one of the hardest things we do each year, it is also one of the most enjoyable. We saw some children that were there last year as well, but they're still just as bright and strong. We are very honored we were able to brighten the holidays for these children, if even for just a moment and are already looking forward to next year.

Franchise: Arizona Ghostbusters meeting Mr. Dan Aykroyd! [UPDATED]

On Saturday, September 10th, 2011, the Arizona Ghostbusters set up a booth to host raffles for the Multiple Sclerosis Society at a Dan Aykroyd Crystal Head Vodka signing at the local Bevmo. We were invited to set up our Ecto and booth at the event by BevMo and the vodka distributor. Folks were lined up before we even got there to set up. The line went all the way around the building and down the back of the strip mall. We set our Ecto and booth up next to the front door and the head of the local Multiple Sclerosis Society set up her table at our tent as well. When Dan showed up he made a beeline out of his RV to our Ecto and did a walk around giving it his seal of approval and then talked to be about how he remembered us from 3 years ago, still has the hat we gave him and wanted our contact info again. Then he went to the booth and autographed all of the items we were raffling off for the MS Society. He even unknowingly autographed items we just use for display at the booth. He signed bottles long after the event was supposed to be over to make sure everyone got in. In the three hours we were there we collected $600.00 for the MS Society.
